IMPORTANT READ FIRST --Before attempting this tutorial for Super Blade Pro, you must be acquainted with controls of Blade Pro, and you can become acquainted with it by going thru my Blade Pro Basics Tuts. It is imperative that you know the basics prior to attempting this tutorial, because it will be assumed that you do. From now on Blade Pro is BP and Super Blade Pro is SBP.

It would be best to experiment a bit with each control as you read about it. This will help familiarize yourself with the controls.

The graphic below shows you the BP work space with all the the original controls. Some of you are new to SBP and therefore never really seen Blade Pro's work space except in an old tutorial such as the one I wrote. But I included it here so you can compare the difference.

The following is SBP's work space. Take a moment to note the differences.

One of the first things I noticed (other than the obvious) is the little blue ball that was next to the glue button is gone. It didn't do anything that I knew of, so no big loss; otherwise, the BP workspace has been carried over intact. The SBP glue option does have 3 new options: abrasion, height, unlit. I am still not too sure what all the glues do. The literature says that this lets you "combine the sun with the underlying image in various ways. Modes other than "normal" produces special effects." Height can be interesting. Otherwise, the glues rather baffle me.

Simple Bevel: You will notice that the dice was moved down and a button with a blue dot is now in its place. This button is a bevel control and allows you to make simple beveled buttons. It definitely is simple, but that is what can be its greatest point because it can also bevel the text/ding/graphic you put on your button. It has alot of potential for what it does.

Undo: Backs up one step, and from my experience, ONLY one step and if clicked again it takes it back to what you just undid.

Random Seed: This can be used to change blotches, from the Blotches control. Its actually a nice control. I made a green marble preset, and when I load, I can press the RS button until the veins are pretty much what i want them to be.

This is the set of new SBP controls located on the lower left of the workspace.

Rain: This is described as the amount of water falling from the top of the selection. At first I thought this to be an awful and dumb control until I figured it out. Once we start using the controls, you too, will go...AH!

Evaporation: This controls the amount of rain by setting the rate of evaporation. In otherwords, if used, it will control the amount of rain effects. After this and the rain controls are two color buttons that can change the color of the water.

Diffusion: This controls the horizontal spread of water. To me, it appears to smooth out the rain effect. At the end of this control is the wet/dry button which when combined with the first four controls makes a nice aged cracked effect which we will explore later. What the wet/dry button does, is to control whether the rain is opaque or transparent.

Dust: This places a powder like effect on upward-facing surfaces. You can use its color button to change the dusts colored effects.

Grit: This control adds a snowy noise to your selection.

The above are the controls located on the right lower corner of SBP's workspace

All the following controls has color change buttons following them.

Tarnish: This control places a dull, colored finish to the concave areas of your selection.

Abrasion: This is opposite of Tarnish, it places a dull, colored finish in the convex areas of the selection.

Moss: This places a mossy like substance on your selection. Now as stated above, this has a color button, but the literature that comes with the downloaded version states there are two color buttons. But no matter what, I see only one. The first button changes the moss color and the second one is supposed to change the underlying soil.

Leakiness: This makes the moss leak water and makes the blotches soak it in. The color button that accompanies this changes the color of the moss, so you need it to be basically the same color as the moss.

Blotches: This places lichen -like blobs on your selection.

Blotch Size: This controls the color and size of the blotches.

This ends the first section of the tutorial.
